This original work about the life of the biblical King David was brought about through a partnership between the Lowell Milken Fund for American Jewish Music at The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music and the Max Helfman Institute for New Jewish Music. The idea for this new work came from Cantor Phil Baron of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino, CA. It was created by 15 Los Angeles based composers, among them faculty and graduate student composers from UCLA who were led by Professor and composer David Lefkowitz.
